Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family by Robert Kolker

Heartbreaking for me, but a great story that was told very well. Hard to read for some content (cw: sexual and physical abuse) but it is part of the overall greater story. It’s very interesting how the mental health field and studies were woven into the story, and the family really is fascinating.

I loved Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere, and this is even better in my opinion. Very poignant storytelling and with well formed characters, I really got into this one.
