This book reads choppily - It was hard to remain focused on the text because the sentences did not flow. The author often does not write-in who is speaking, thus making you look back over conversations and figure who spoke first and who replied, etc. Much of the text written from the parents' point of view focuses on the mundane tasks at hand in finding your daughter - taping up a sign on a light post, driving to the police station, and so on. The author could have made these perspectives a bit more interesting. The only time I caught myself really getting into the book was when the sister was telling the story. Her perspective was more interesting and flowed better than the rest of the book. Many of the plot lines didn't go anywhere, and the author jumped around too frequently - one event happening, and then the story going somewhere else on that same page. In the end, the book came up short.

My feelings toward this book were a lot better at the beginning than at the end. As the book went on, the characters began to wear on me - I found them to be annoying and entitled, Miss Honi Love being the exception. The ending dragged on for too many pages, and "shockingly," it ended picture perfect for the characters. A little more true-to-life grit would do this book some good.

Wasn't as impressed with this novel as I thought I would be. It took me awhile to get through it, and it wasn't very exciting - the main character's life was pretty boring, in fact.
