As always, twisty and wonderful. There was one twist that was a little too much/kind of a stretch (it made me debate a 4 star review), but the rest were great. Plus the entire book gave up such spooky and creepy vibes.

This book was all over booksta and I’m late to the game, but I get the hype. It was a very unique plot … even if the ending and twists were pretty predictable.

I’ve never been so happy to finish a book. It was so long.

It was confusing, dripping in toxic masculinity, and didn’t really need the romance plot. But I somehow did still enjoy parts of it once I got into it. At a mere 800 pages, it was hard to really motivate myself to start, but I’m glad I read it so I could see what the hype was about.

But… the last 100 pages really ruined the book for me. It should have been a novella, book 1.5. There was just no reason to be 800 pages.

I had to digest this a little before writing my review. I’m giving it 5 but not a strong 5 - just a medium 5 (is that a thing?). I loved it, and loved it in the moment, but knowing the end now I wish things had been a little different.

I thought the whole plot was leading up to one point - but only part 1 was! Then part 2 felt rushed and I wish part 1 had been a little shorter and part 2 a little more developed. I appreciate that things didn’t drag, but I was left a teeny bit confused at the end of each section.

That being said… still 5 stars and I can’t wait for more of Alex Sterns story!

I really wanted to love this one - and it was good!! - but fell just short of love. There was one plot point I couldn’t get past. I did still really like it and thought it was a cool & interesting twist on some common thriller tropes.
