This book was good to read in October and I loved the 1980’s pop culture and fashion. My main complaint was that I felt the plot NEVER went smoothly for our main character Abby. I understand creating feelings of anxiety in the plot, but this was usually not entertainment level anxiety for me and I was just STRESSED for her. I liked the final scenes but didn’t love where Abby and Gretchen’s story went. All in all, will be picking up more Grady Hendrix books. Really like his ideas!

This is a wholesome spooky ghost story set in a quaint tourist town on the shore of Lake Superior. I enjoyed the idea for the storyline (main character sees a woman in her dreams, woman’s body washes up from the lake, turns out woman died 100+ years ago) but the characters fell flat for me. I felt our main character Kate came off a little weak and all the males in her life were constantly checking on her, tending to her, making sure she didn’t overdo it blah blah. I liked the magical ghost aspect. Loved the atmosphere and setting. Wasn’t sold on the overall plot or characters.
