Omg!!! I’ve never given a book 1 star before. This was completely ridiculous?? The plot of house-flying pompous lady pirates?? They’re not even good at flying their houses!! They’re prim and proper but order hits on one another?? EVERY PARAGRAPH HAD PAINFUL IRONY. “Oh sir I cannot go into the sun without my parasol but I will certainly stab you and steal your belongings ha ha aren’t I ironic!!” Our main trainee pirate lady Cecilia was SO naive it hurt me. That’s dramatic but wow this book was a lot.

7/21/21: I knew I would do this but I’ve thought too much and now I’m here giving this book 3 stars because IT WAS OKAY but I can get past my feelings (lack of feelings) for the characters. Did enjoy more than the silent patient though.

I just did not like this story based on a family that spent DECADES not communicating ONE THING with each other (there was a solid 10% toward the end that was good but it cannot erase the 90% of this book that is Meredith and Nina being selfish and clueless adult children)
