The YA version of National Treasure! This was a great dystopian adventure novel. As all the different characters tell their version of how the tale plays out the reader is given a broad view of the world at Windmill Bay and how every person intertwines with the other. The difference in characters' personalities and back stories, even the evil Kino, help propel the story forward. The imagery the author creates with her description of the buildings and grounds of the school creates a dark world and adds to the drama. The story is fast paced and adventurous, with just the right amount of romance and drama. Jennifer Froelich has done a wonderful job creating a great read.
Mac ter Horst’s Hey There, Earth Dweller! was an interesting read. I enjoyed all the science packed into the book along with the wonderful illustrations by Wendy Panders. It was a good primer for a lot of different topics that make for fun conversations between kids and other kids and kids and adults. Also it was a great refresher for this adult. I will say, while I appreciated some of the bluntness of what could happen to future earth, whether thru human impact or just nature taking its course, it may be a little too much for some more sensitive readers. Overall, I feel this would make a great read for any young mind that enjoys learning more about this wonderful place we live.
Another great read by Pötzsch. These books take me a little longer to read but are totally worth it. Love the historical fiction part as it makes me want to learn more about the time period and the location. Love the characters. Can't wait to pick up the next in the series.
I really enjoyed this first novel in this series. I loved the introduction to all the characters and the setting. I can't wait to read the next book.
