i loved this book so much! i cannot wait until i can read the next book in the series. i was but scared that i fell for another tiktok trap but it is actually so good! and holly her writing is amazing she is definitely on her way to becoming an insta buy author for me

going to be brutally honest, the first 60% were not it for me, it was predictable, boring, the fmc was annoying me and i just generally did not enjoy the non descriptive writing (because nothing really made sense and i felt like i was dropped in the second book in the series and missing context) but i kept reading because i liked oro and grim.
after the 60% mark it got way better and i read the last parts within 2 days! the twists and stuff i did not see coming which was nice! the fmc got a lot more enjoyable the more i learned about her and the plot made more sense. Definitely glad i finished it and will be reading the second part sometime!! (bcz i need more grim!!!)

this was such a short novella but in comparison to other novellas i read it actually felt like a whole story which was really nice

the story follows aurelia princess of the summer court and fennick prince of the midnight court. Aurelias kingdom soon falls under a wicked sleeping spell and she figures out the only one who can help her is fennick of the midnight court, which sucks because the summer court and midnight court are sworn enemies.
Together they must figure out a way to lift the sleeping spell but they soon find out its much deeper than they think.
The story is amazing it has everything a romantasy retelling should have, great romance, dragons, fae, witches and magic. The writing is amazing and so so captivating.
I genuinely enjoyed this book as my first retelling story ever and i would for sure pick up the next book in this series or other books by this author.
The only thing I did not really like were the spice scenes. They were not written in a way that was enjoyable for me to read but they were such minor scenes it didnt really affect the overall feel of the book
if you like romantasy retellings i recommend to pick this book up when it comes out on september 15th!

the way this book was written is such a breath of fresh air for fantasy books, the writing is funny and serious at the same time. the jokes are at the right moments and orpheus has insanely funny inner dialoge
the story follows orpheus who we quickly learn has a death curse but we dont really know why or how. we follow him on his journey to understand and reverse this curse all while trying to figure out his feelings
overall i would say this books audience is definitely ya and/or beginning fantasy readers. it reads easily without too complicated or long worldbuilding. its only 300ish pages which is perfect if you dont want to commit to a series of 5 books each with 600 pages. if this sounds like something for you i would definitely pick this up when it comes out on november 12th

a human girl in a vampire trial, to be honest i wasnt sure how this was gonna go because humans are way less powerful than vampires. i was scared oraya was going to be some insanelg overpowered unrealistic human fmc but she is everything but that.
oraya is the definition of badass main character, she is strong yes definitely but the fact that she still needs help of others sometimes to win fights only makes her more badass than if she didnt.
raihn is also such a good well thought out character. he is both this cool guy as well as a big softie underneath.
the entire book felt like i was watching a movie, the scenes written out beautifully and thoughtful it was simply amazing
the twists and turns were a little bit predictable but in a good way that they were hinted at correctly if you picked up on the little things, and still besides this the twists had me gasping and looking towards my fake audience to see if they also read the shit that was happening

i enjoyed reading this book ! i am not usually that into manga but this was a fun start. I really liked the development of the characters and the relationship between them. Even though i felt like the relationship moved very quickly for them, it made a lot of sense after learning more about their backstories. The art style is so so pretty and nice to look at as well.
I am not sure if i will read the next volumes of this since the plot was a bit confusing to follow. But nonetheless a great read and really enjoyed it!
