It's weird putting a star rating on something that is so rooted in a horrific true crime case. Many of the details of what happened to Sylvia Likens in the summer/early fall of 1965 were accurate based on what I have heard from true crime coverage of her case. The last 1/3 of the book was extremely difficult to get through because of the escalation of violence.
