i don’t think this is going to stick with me - it’s a bit heavy handed towards the end
i love the concept and the first third is great - i think this is a short story masquerading as a novella
i do wish it had gone a different direction in this extended form -
why doesn’t she go to the Compound or find other people who are thinking these things and WHY isn’t there a good resolution on the seep having separate consciousness's because of seep alchemy ??

this book is insane and i’m obsessed with it. an incredible entry into the beast fable hall of fame
this mountain lion has a personality to die for and i love him
also thank you henry for writing the story we all needed about the country’s greatest living animal, the urban mountain lion

the nuggets of a good story are there but wow did it need to be further refined
just not enough character or plot development, i didn’t get much sense of the authors voice, sort of oddly paced
it got bonus points for philadelphia and a shockingly good final page

i can’t believe it took me so long to actually read this
it belongs in a catergory with birnam wood for books that address both the ecological crisis and the social crisis tied to it
i love where the book ended up going although i wish for just a bit more of the ending
