It's like a miniature version of Hexwood. A very fun read.

I want to go out and read every other book by this author. This is a very long book (I had to check it out, renew it, and then check it out again to finish it) but it has an abundance of information not just about Sally Hemings' and Thomas Jefferson's individual lives, but also the context they lived in-- you will learn a lot about attitudes towards slavery in France, for instance. Also, I was consistently impressed with the author's ability to preemptively knock down racist arguments against her points.
