Initially the book felt super wattpad/tumblr for me and I considered not finishing it a couple of times. Due to the hype and the long wait at the library, I pushed on and eventually fell in love with the characters, despite feeling an over the top layering of angst in the pages. The message that was delivered at the end and the reason “It ends with us” was something that I didn’t quite grasp until the end (which makes sense) and it has definitely left me considerably more empathetic towards women in situations like Lily.
