Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.

Dnfed this a while back, tried to pick it back up and am putting it away again. The story is just too long-winded and I’m not remotely attached to any of the characters in it. The concept is really cool, but the way it’s told makes me not want to keep reading every time I give it another go.

Ruge is a great writer but this book really starts to drag around the halfway mark and also the story feels like at least three extended metaphors at the same time, to the detriment to all of them imo
