On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder

This book adds nothing meaningful to the conversation about fascism in America. It offers no solutions or courses of action, or even explanations for how we got to this point; it's just 128 pages of discombobulated and unhelpful soundbites. It seriously suggests reading Harry Potter as “an account of tyranny and resistance”. I will likely come back with a longer review at a later date.

Sometimes you read a book at a specific time in your life and it becomes part of your soul. Every book Max Brooks has written has managed to be one of those books for me. I'm bad at writing reviews for art I actually like, I might come back to this one someday to flesh it out.
