I was consumed by this story! I found myself picking it up every time I had a spare 5 minutes through the day. Was it very dramatic and unrealistic? Yes but, let’s be honest, I’m not reading for realism—I was hooked.
I’m not usually a big fan of bully romances but this one was very light on the “bully” aspect. I saw a lot of people complaining about that, but I think it works well with this story and Oakley’s background. I found myself really loving this whole story—toxic and wild but oh so good! The chemistry between Oakley and Asher was explosive and I genuinely loved them together + the spicy scenes were🔥, the ‘bully’ being the submissive one😮💨
I did feel like the whole amnesia plot point wasn’t really necessary though and was only included to drag out the drama at the end… did I eat it up regardless? Yes.
Why do I always leave these books with more questions than answers…Rebecca Yarros you are so mean but don’t stop writing😂
There wasn’t too much romance in this one, which was disappointing but I adore Xaden and Violet individually and as a couple and that won’t change! Honestly Xaden only has to do the bare minimum and it has me swooning👀 I also absolutely loved seeing Violet really grow into herself and become a badass bitch. She’s such a queen!
The dragons, as usual, had me laughing hard. They truly steal the show. And Tairn is such a dad, I adore him. We all need a Tairn in life🙌🏼
I will say I was majorly confused for a lot of the book, which is mostly my fault for not re-reading, but the constant name dropping and info dumping had me🤯 & with not much explanation. Surely the author can’t expect people to be able to remember so many details/characters without a little prompting…
There was so much going on and my poor brain struggled to keep up.
I can’t believe I have to wait until June for book 2…😭
This was my first Giana Darling book and it definitely won’t be my last! The writing was so gripping and consuming—even when the characters were frustrating me I didn’t want to stop reading. I truly have no idea where the story is going to go next and I kinda love that.
I loved Sebastian and Adam. The chemistry between them all was off the charts! Their story is so messy but oh so🌶️ I can’t tell if the way Savannah was written was intentional for us to dislike her because I honestly disliked her more and more as the story progressed. But the way she was written felt purposeful so I guess we’ll see what she’s like as the series continues.
I have some theories and will be anxiously awaiting book 2 to see if I’m right!!
