extremely 2010's, occasionally in good ways, mostly in bad ones. I was very glad when all this awful and boring people died. On the other hand, there was something in it that was enough for me to get another book from this guy out from the library.

Ava Reid's Juniper and Thorn was excellent, but everything of hers I've read since has been disappointing in comparison. She seems to have really watered her prose down.

I wanted to like this so much more than I did! The prose is lovely, the characters well-drawn and complex, the subject of personal interest to me (someone who started transition in a relationship) and yet it was... kind of dull.
