I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I had a lot of people telling me how amazing this book and series is and I’ve decided not to believe hype anymore because so many books are being hyped but not worth it but HOLY HELL. The Sweetest Oblivion absolutely blew me away. Danielle Lori blew me away.

Elena was amazing. I don’t have much to say about her aside from the fact that I really loved how strong she was. I love my heroines feisty and it’s really hard to find a heroine that is feisty and stands her ground but isn’t annoying. Elena is one of those rare ones.

Nico was pretty much the perfect man for me. My type is tall dark handsome and well he was tall dark handsome perfect yummy aka everything. I loved his understanding side. He really wasn’t one of those men that jumped to conclusions or let his emotions rule him which I absolutely LOVED.

The best thing about this book was the CHEMISTRY. OHMYGOD. That chemistry is something else. Completely different shit. Absolutely amazing. I could go on and on. It’s just that amazing. I felt the heat from their first meeting and every interaction after that. I fell in love with them from the first moment and continued to stay in love with them.

This was my first book from the author and holy hell. Her writing is so captivating and once again the chemistry is insane. Her writing is definitely something else and safe to say, I’m a sucker for it now.

This book was one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I was so excited for it and was on the edge of my seat waiting for when it would be published. Shayne and Thayer were absolutely forbidden and were step-siblings until a major event happened which rocked them both off their axis.

Now, straight to the point.

Did this book meet my expectations? No. Did I absolutely love this book? No. BUT, did I absolutely hate this book? Also No.

This book was a mix of good and bad. I didn’t like some things and I did like some others.

I felt like Shayne and Thayer had a connection but I would’ve liked it more if Charleigh had shown more of their past. We started off from when she already loved him and I feel like because of that, we weren’t able to see much of the connection between Shayne and Thayer. I would’ve preferred to see how they were before the prologue, seen some scenes which made them fall in love because it felt a little off especially since we didn’t start when they were first meeting. More than this, I feel like it wasn’t really all that clear because they had sex, a lot. It was very often and I feel like that also clouded their connection.

Though despite this, I absolutely loved Valen and Holden. For me they were kind of the stars and I’d definitely love to see more of them! They’re amazing and I feel like Charleigh will knock them out of the park. Charleigh’s writing also manages to drag the emotions out of you and this was certainly no exception to that.

I had very high expectations coming from Kiss Me With Lies. Don’t get me wrong Bury Me With Lies was good but there were just some things that got to me. The constant back and forth between Mackenzie and Baz got annoying at times and certain situations were too unrealistic. I know this is fiction but it was something I doubt would ever happen in real life.
