“Everyone you love will hurt you, in some way. Most of them, I hope, will do it by accident.”

Wow! I can’t remember how I found this book but I’m so glad I did. In less than 24 hours, I devoured Faking with Benefits via Kindle Unlimited (why did I not have it sooner?!) It was the perfect level of sugar 😇 and spice 🌶! I only read a few reviews going into it so nothing was spoiled for me; I just knew I had to read it when someone described it as if Jess from New Girl was dating her roomies. An accurate description!

I won’t give the plot away but each guy feels real; he has his own backstory, plot lines to resolve, feelings to come to terms with. It’s not just about sexy fun times, though there’s plenty of that too. What I’m getting at is there’s character development, plots moving forward and smut, what more could you want? Not to mention that Layla isn’t one dimensional either; yes, she’s shy at times but she’s a boss babe too!

I loved the different POVs. It felt like I got to know each character on an equal level. I kept flipping between which guy was my favorite while knowing the point is that she ends up with all of them, so they all became my favorite for different reasons. The only disappointment for me was that the guys weren’t together together, but they worked well together with her. They were obviously friends and got along but they weren’t intimate. I understand that’s probably the point of a reverse harem novel though (my first time reading this genre!) and it didn’t take away anything from the story in the end.

Overall a very enjoyable read. Can’t wait to read her other books. New fan alert! 💗

TLDR; Please read this series if you haven't already! I know I'm late to the game but it's so worth it. I'm someone that doesn't like endings and while I'm grieving these characters/this timeline being over, I'm also extremely grateful to have read Warriors in the first place.

What an incredible series! I wouldn't have picked Warriors up without my fiancées recommendation. I read the first book all the way back in 2014 then a few years ago we decided to do a buddy read. It took us a long time but we made it, and I can't believe it's over.

It would have had more of an impact on my life had I read this series as a child but I can say from an adult perspective, I enjoyed it immensely. I do miss the characters after living in their world for so long. I cried when certain characters died, truly mourned them as if they were real, while others I didn't care as much
Ashfur for example, or any of the cats that were obviously the villain like Tigerstar
.

The series has so many plotlines, characters, twists and turns that you don't expect (while some can be a little more predictable). I feel that this would be a good series for any child that has a love for animals, especially cats (the reason my fiancée started reading them in the first place), and it's honestly one of the best series I've read in my life. Every character and plotline feels like it's been tied up in a neat little package by the end.

I will say that I didn't expect the ending. I knew it had to end eventually and I thought I knew what would happen (I'm usually good at predicting) but just like the Erins have done countless times before, they threw me for a loop again. Days later, I'm still thinking about it. I know that I'll start the next series but it won't be the same group of cats and in a way, I'm still grieving that I've finished it.

Also I love a book with a map in the front; I'm a sucker for worldbuilding which this series does perfectly! Just for fun, here's a list of my favorite characters off the top of my head (which I'll spoiler in case you find this review and want to read from the beginning):
Spottedleaf (my fave from the start), Cinderpelt, Feathertail, Jayfeather, Dovewing. My least favorite cats, the ones that mostly just got on my nerves but weren't necessarily bad characters/villains were Ivypool, Hollyleaf, Blossomfall, as well as Sandstorm and Dustpelt in the beginning of the series
