I liked it better than the original. I'm not really one for conventional romance stories. It was a good read and maybe I'm just dumb but understood this better than the original. The zombies made it awesome. I actually laughed at some parts.
It was good enough that I finished it. It wasn't that the book was boring but I hated the characters. I know that's the point of the book. Us thinking we're ugly and wanting to be pretty. I used to think that way and whenever I read through the character's point of view, it irritated me. Maybe, it's because of the self hate the character felt. I just didn't like it.
I think it would be a good book to read if it was read by another person. I wouldn't recommend it if you're a girl who's already accepted that you're beautiful just the way you are.

It was a really nice book that I found. I started reading it at early morning and finished it in the afternoon. It was addicting to read, and it was interesting.
I liked the female protagonist that the author created. Katsa was strong to begin with, but she was more courageous with her efforts at disobeying her uncle. She really followed what she wanted to do and wasn't going to let anyone boss her around anymore.
In the middle of the book, the author changed Katsa's Grace. It was successfully done. The way she handled it is that it is written reasonably. It did not seem like it was changed suddenly just to fit the given situation. There were hints at the start of the novel. It's just not noticeable due to the character's state.
I really liked Po. I was kind of sad for him, because he was blind. I didn't see that one coming. It was nice that Katsa knew that he is blind. Their relationship was so refreshing from the usual couples in other books. Usually it's filled with drama, but this one's not.
Overall, this book was written great. The author has talent in writing and her way of introducing the magical elements of the books did not overwhelm me. It had good paced plot, but the ending was kind of dragging. This book had a great mixture of story, action, and romance. It was efinitely my type of book.

Overall
I wasn't sure what to think of this book considering that I didn't like the Uglies Trilogy, of which has been written by the same author. It is, fortunately, safe to say that he has improved.
I may have liked this book better because of historical parallels it has in real life. I am a history nerd, and the plot interested me. I really liked the idea of alternate universes.
This book also is more creative that his other books. The whole world seemed well thought out. The idea of transgenic animals being used in war like the Leviathan was brilliant. This is the first steampunk book I have ever read, and Leviathan made me want to read more.
I can definitely say that the beginning could've been written better. I wish he introduced the world to us better. It was confusing at first, and it made me feel dumb for not understanding it. Nonetheless, it got better in the middle when the two plots intertwined together.
Mostly, I looked forward to Alek's plot more. I got interested in the book when their paths crossed. I was hooked by then.
Most YA books have their protagonists as girls. I'm glad that in this book it's a guy. It certainly refreshing from the other books I've read.
This book has left me wanting more. I am left to believe that the sequel would be infinitely better. So, I will now be on the hunt for a copy of the Behemoth.
I sincerely recommend this book.

Am I the only one who isn't as interested in Jace and Clary as I was before?
I really liked the addition of Jordan and Maia. It was a nice addition to the plot. Also, Jordan and Jace's Bromance was cute. Their snarkiness together made me laugh, and it was what made the book endearing to me. So Clare, thank you for thee. I liked Maia in this book more. Bringing Jordan in made her character more complex.
Also, Izzy! I hope Clare doesn't decide to kill her. I think she has feelings for Simon. I'm always so proud of the way she deals with things. I like the way she doesn't give her heart out to anybody. I like how she's so careful. Also, I felt sadness for her, when she told Simon how her father was with another woman, and her mother told her this at an early age.
Simon was amazing in this book. He was always at the end of Jace's and Jordan's snarkiness. I wish there would be more scenes like that. He was more likeable in this book. Maybe, it's because he doesn't stand in Jace and Clary's relationship, or his life is written as more horrible. She actually takes the time to describe Simon's life now.
Cassandra Clare has done it again. Whether it's her signatured cliffhanger, or her ability to use past information in the other books, including Clockwork Angel, and intertwine into each other, she has made another scream worthy book.

I have won this book through a contest here on goodreads. When I first got it, I was excited. Here was a book that's thick and big. It's got a great cover. Plus, I got it for free.
Cora Cash is a rich American Heiress. She is the main character of the book. She is very spoiled; She never failed to use her money to be attractive. She is beautiful and wanted by a long list of suitors. At first, she sounded like someone I wouldn't want to associate myself with. Spoiled and Pretty wasn't a good combination. The author, fortunately, made her likeable.
I, however, had a problem with her husband, Ivo. He isn't likeable, charming, or the good kind of mysterious. His declared motives went against his actions. The explanation the author gave us at the end of the book was lacking. It did not make me like Ivo. He was not given enough of a redeeming moment. He did things that were very hypocrital.
Cora did have character development. She turned from a lovesick heiress to a mother who can make her own choices.
Since the author wanted to be accurate, I think she hit something. I did like that she had so much details. It was very nice, trying to imagine Cora's beautiful dress.
Overall, the book is a good read. It's something that you must read for relaxing. It is a beach book. While there are parts I wanted to skip or parts that I wanted to go the other way, it was good enough to spend time on.
