I enjoy this. A lot. I always heard that this one is the weakest of the three, and while I agree; god damn I loved it.

The pacing is a little weird for me. Sometimes I wanted it to hurry up and just get on with it. But not everything in a book will be perfect. It made up for it with its characters, overall plot, voice and thrill.

Taryn is still on thin ice for me, but she’s off my hit list. Cardan is enjoyable in all the ways now. He’s an asshole but he’s MY (well Jude’s) asshole. Jude is fantastic, as always. It was incredible watching her grow from a passionate want-to-be knight to a Queen from all three books. I enjoyed seeing more of Vivian and Heather as well - especially Heather. She’s no longer just “Vi’s mortal girlfriend”.

The plot was thrilling, while it felt a little funny how it just kind of,,, happened right off the bat if that makes sense. But once I was half way I was hooked. I felt like I knew what to expect and didn’t at the same time. It was amazing.

Overall, loved it. It’s weak but still strong in its own ways. Happy I read it.

This was a magical read.

The writing was whimsical and very fun to read, I found most words bounced off each other. January’s thoughts were interesting and I enjoyed being in her head, she was a brilliant narrator.

The story was interesting, sometimes I felt the plop dipped a little but I enjoyed it. I was captivated for the most part.

The characters were also very interesting; Samual, Jane, January. And even the villains were interesting themselves.

I’m glad I found this joke on Libby, I wasn’t planning on reading it but it was great!

Although this book took longer for me to read compared to The Cruel Prince, I didn’t want to put it down! Everything about it was interesting. Usually sequels just fail to deliver anything close to the first, but this one had me loving it more.

I love Jude still. I absolutely love her cleverness, it’s so enjoyable to read and see her plans come about. Same with Cardan, I loved him in the first but god I think he’s up there with Jude. Especially near the end. It’s weird how interested I am in their relationship when it’s something that normally doesn’t work. But damn I want them to be Endgame.

Overall, best book. Loved it. Will definitely read the third one.

I enjoyed this book.

It was interesting with how it takes history and uses it to tell a story in the future. Although I didn’t find myself invested in the story for most of it, I still continued because I enjoyed the characters and what was going to come. Voya was a good main protagonist, I liked reading in her perspective. Her family was full of wonderful side characters. Keis was especially my favourite. I love how the book focused on learning from the past to grow a new future.

The concept of Witches is just fantastic; the divide of impure and pure witches, gifts, callings, and the ancestors. The end especially grabbed me. One thing that shocked me the most was how I did end up rooting for the main romance.

Although it’s not my favourite book and I don’t think it was incredible, I enjoyed it. It was a fun read and I’m glad I picked it up. I feel pretty content with the ending but I maybe in the future I’ll grab the sequel and give it a go.

Wow, I’m really surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. I remember everyone raving about it on TikTok so I gave it a chance, the book store in the mall had a buy one get two half off deal so I thought why not grab it? Very thankful I did.

I was heavily interested in Jude. Which doesn’t happen often, most main characters tend to fall short compared to the side ones to me. But Jude was interesting, her development, thoughts, motives, everything about her just made me want to read more. Her constant inner turmoil with her wants and needs was just painful and I didn’t want to stop reading. Other characters, such as; Locke, Vivi, and Cardan were also equally cool. One major thing I loved about this book was how non of the characters were black and white. They had all the good and the bad in them so they felt real to me. I don’t think there were any characters I hated in terms of writing-wise. All where interesting even when they did horrible acts.

The plot was easy to jump into as well. Even in the beginning, when it was barley being set up I was hooked. The themes, the settings, the writing. Everything. So good. I loved learning about the different Courts, the magic and how it was in the eyes of Jude.

Im quite happy with how I don’t necessarily have to read the next two books to be content with the story. It ends with stuff concluded but leaves a seed to grow for the next book. I liked that. But I’m definitely going to be getting the second book when my next paycheque comes.
