I had this book suggested to me by a coworker. And I’m glad she suggested it because this was not something I would’ve normally read.

This book was non-stop. It felt like one major tragedy after the next. Nancy’s life was a whole disaster and it was interesting to see her adapt and develop throughout each relationship and environment she was in. She was a really interesting character; I specially like how gray she is. She’s a very flawed character, doing many things for her own desire. However, her flaws made her feel very human.

This book is a ‘never let them know your next move’, because It took a lot of turns (then again I went in blind). It was enjoyable.

This book was so fun. It’s silly, and just super entertaining. I’m a HUGE Nightmare Before Christmas fan and this book did not let me down!

Wasn’t expecting to like this one so much!! It took me a little longer to get invested, but the ending was totally worth it!

I heavily enjoyed Suren, or Wren, as a main protagonist. She was a perfect choice for being the lead. Seeing how she lives after the original trilogy, going from traumatized side character to her own fully developed character was fulfilling.

Oak was excellent, which I wasn’t expecting. I enjoyed his charm and he was written perfectly. Like Wren, I couldn’t tell what his plan was; if he was trustworthy or manipulative.

The only thing I felt like it lacked was the side characters. I liked people like The Storm Hag and the seeing the Court of Moths. But overall, I wasn’t as invested in characters like Tiernan or Hyacinthe. They weren’t bad, or unlikeable. But I just wasn’t as interested in them as Oak or Wren.

The plot was interesting and watching it slowly unravel into something much bigger was fun. One thing I always loved about The Folk of Air series is how Holly Black finishes the given plot, while leaving room for more. I’m 100% excited for the next one and I’m already impatient.
