Oh, this book is EVERYTHING to me.

I love a good "and they were roommates" trope in a book, but combine that with one of them secretly being trans and hiding the fact that he had a romantic past with his roommate before he transitioned? I'm completely obsessed.

This story is more than that, though. It shows Charlie's growth and acceptance for himself and for being a student at Valentine's Academy for Boys, which is such a huge part of this book on top of navigating Jasper Grimes as a person, roommate, poet, and past lover.

I can't wait for everyone to fall in love with the characters in this book. It's such a fun story to start off the summer and let's be honest, the title ALONE should peak everyone's interest.

Thank you so much Macmillan Children's Publishing Group and Roaring Brook Press for the ARC. This was by far one of my most anticipated reads this year and I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to read this book.

Not as good as the first one, but I ate this mystery up.

Maybe I’m not the right audience for this book . . . or it’s just not great.

The is such a unique way to tell this story. I was hesitant to liking it at first, but it grew on me as I got further into J—‘s story.

My heart hurts for J—, hurts for the experiences she went through, the confusion and angry thoughts in her head, and reading what it’s like for someone to grow up with ADHD.

Thank you, Penguin Teen, for sending me this book!

Sometimes you need a little trashy gay romance novel, and that’s okay. The story was short and sweet, a little strange, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I don’t want to give too much away but Howard and George give me Bonnie and Clyde vibes. They are also SO Veronica and JD coded. God, they’re perfectly crazy for each other.

My jaw is on the FLOOR.

I was a bit hesitant getting into this book after hearing so many people talk about how different it is from Iron Widow, but that is what makes Heavenly Tyrant so GOOD. It had to be different due to the circumstances the characters were forced into with the new power.

I haven’t been this invested in a Fantasy book in a long time, maybe not ever. It’s so good.

As someone from the Nebraska Dimension (as in from the state of Nebraska), I absolutely love this story. Any book that mentions or takes place in Nebraska, sign me up, especially if it's about queer people in Nebraska.

Okay, enough about Nebraska. I don't read a lot of books with Second Chance Romance and Missed Connections tropes, but I can't pass up anything written by Edward Underhill. It wasn't a coincidence that Gabe and Arden crossed paths in Nebraska, love the same band (Damaged Pixie Dream Boi), and happen to be trans. Their connection couldn't have been more perfect.

If only they could find each other again.

This book came into my life at a perfect time. A time when I need to remind myself that everything happens for a reason and that connections are meant to be made. People will always come back to you if they are meant to be in it. Also, it's okay to not be perfect! Hard emphasis on not being perfect.

Thank you, HarperCollins, for giving me an ARC for In Case You Read This!

I am so completely obsessed with these remix books, and this one? It’s everything to me. I need so many of these stories in my life.

Elizabeth Bennet being a trans man named Oliver, Darcy “not liking women” and nobody knows why, and just wanting to be completely yourself in the Regency era. Ugh, I love it.

A power hungry ballerina in France? Yeah, sounds about right. Let her do it.
