This one's going to stay with me for a while.

The writing is elegant and erudite, but so readable. I don't think it ended up being exactly what I was expecting when I picked it up, however, I became thoroughly hypnotized by the characters. The plot kept me guessing the whole way, despite giving away a lot of the story in the first few pages. I plan on picking it up again.

All I can think is..."with friends like these..."

I struggled to finish this. It’s about 200 pages too long. The writing is way, way too detailed for my liking. And as far as the plot - considering the length of the book - nothing really happens…? I had high hopes for this but I was so bored for the last 300 pages and found myself skimming it to finish.
