The Cursed: Nicola by Naomi Valkyrie
5.0
Excellent read. This author really knows how to make the romance happen without the in depth sex scene and for me, that works! It is hot between Nicola and Tavian but there is also a dark past with both of them. My heart aches for both and their traumas, but I was glad they were finally able to speak them out loud to each other, cope and learn to move on with their relationship, since thy were fated mates. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what happens with Wyatt and Andrew!
Jumping to Conclusions: A picture book teaching children not to judge by Suzanna Lynn

This book was was sweet. Buddy and his family get a new brother with Loki. Loki is a kitten but he is larger than Buddy which scares him. His brothers Donut & Salem immediately make friends with Loki while Buddy runs away scared. The scene with Buddy running away is the cutest image. Donut helps Loki and Buddy realize that neither of them dislike each other, Buddy was scared of Loki because of his yelling and size but didn’t realize he was actually very friendly, loving and playful. You can’t always judge a book by its cover.

Absolutely loved this book! The story set up as a comic book was brilliant and the art was fantastic. The animal friends all get together to take a vacation somewhere cooler and happen to choose a place that is freezing. They realize the grass is not always greener on the other side, and there is not place like home. Watching these friends on their adventures is funny, and entertaining. Zip had me laughing with his love of yellow and Milo and his need for wanting to eat constantly. I would love to see more from this group of safari friends!
If Shapes Could Eat: A fun rhyming story encouraging a healthy relationship with food and trying new things. by Rella B.

Lovely book! The artwork is wonderful, the rhyming is spot on, the book really flows nicely. This book is perfect to teach kids about different foods, allergies and how people are different. I always say to try everything once, it may not be for you, but you can say you tried it. I like the point about over eating, and on sweets no less. Eating too much that you are so full is no good, but making it sweets will make you feel ill. Great teaching tool!
In the Dragon's Fiery Lair by Lois Wickstrom

I really enjoyed this story, this is not what I usually see from this author. Amy knows deep down she has magyck and that comes to fruition on her twelfth birthday. Her grandma and her mother have told her stories about her dad Basil, but in her heart she thinks him to still be alive somewhere. I was scared for her going into the cave on her birthday to discover her magyck, and was very happy her mom decided to go with her. The dragon and genie both seemed like tricksters to me, but it was funny that they, Amy and her mom, kept referring to the dragon as floating bird poop. The adventure in the cave and trying to solve problems was fun to follow along with, the only downside is the ending. I feel it was left very open ended, I really wanted to know what happens to Amy and her family as well as the ghost.

Yes! I love this follow up with Dan and Jake. It is nice to watch as Dan comes into his sexuality and discovers more about himself. I got frustrated at times with Dan, he says he loves Jake, and doesn’t want to live without him but is a hard no on the desires Jake has. Sometimes Jake wants to receive rather than give. It just felt as though he would never entertain the thought, and what it came down to is just poor communication all around on both of them. The ending made me smile so much and gave me the closure I was looking for. I wasn’t excepting that big of an ending with these two but am all the more happy for it.

I adore Hunter and Rachel! Both are dealing with past pain but still find love with each other. Hunter takes his sweet time approaching Rachel but I am glad he finally decided he had a good reason. Hunter is not the best in expressing himself but their little misunderstandings seem to get solved pretty quickly. He will let nothing stop them from being together. Rachel’s dad’s drama catches up to them and pokes a hole in their sweet bubble, find out if Rachel stays to fight or runs away.

This book is so cute, and the art work is just wonderful. The colors and design bring about a nostalgia that made me smile. Honestly, who doesn’t want to know where dragons take their vacation? This story is fun, and it gets kids thinking about different places dragons could go, sparking imagination.
Please Put The Seat Down...And The Lid Too by Allan Mansoor

This is such a cute and fun book. The artwork is beautiful and the topic is funny for children yet something kids need to know. I really enjoyed all the fun facts, I did not know that is how the name motown came about. Putting the seat down is important in any family that had both boys and girls.
