The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee

This book is just a futuristic Gossip Girl. Avery is Serena van set Woodsen, the flawless loveable popular girl with a heart of gold, but filled with internal problems. Leda is Blair, Averys right wing, until she decides she wants something of hers and destroys everyone's lives to get it. Cord is Chuck, arrogant and hidden, moody from his parents death, only willing to do meaningless hookups. Until he finds the right person. Atlas is Nate. Elusive and beautiful and popular, not he doesn't want that kind of life. He comes back because he loves his family. And Watt is the outsider turned popular, dating Avery briefly, like the curly haired guy from GG, who's like the main character but I forget the name of. It really wasn't that original. It even ended in death.

I wish it expanded more on the environment. It's supposedly all taken place in the renovated Empire State Building, but it doesn't emphasis how big it is at a consistent rate. At floor 190 there is the entire Central Park inside the floor, as well as multiple other things, weather is controlled, etc. But the higher the floors go, the smaller they are. The lower you go, the larger they are. Why would you do that if the thousandths floor is supposed to be everyone's dream??? It's obviously not a tiny apartment, but don't label it like that. It's weird and causes the readers to see it differently.

The only thing I really liked was that it was mildly addictive to read. For some reason, I like drama. Some books have drama, but they make it childish. This doesn't make it childish. It is a bit dumbed down, but nothing that would agitate you. I don't really recommend it, unless you're an avid fan of gossip girl.
