Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

While Fourth Wing was a quick read, I found it deeply frustrating. The idea is solid but the execution was clumsy and full of tired tropes. Most of the major beats were obvious. I don’t mind cursing in books or real life, but the amount and usage of cursing in this book took me out of the fantasy setting. 

A lot of interactions between characters and inner monologues were repetitive and tired. 

I also HATED

that Xaden called Violet “violence”

. 

I’m glad so many people love this book. Just wasn’t for me.
