I thought Abby couldn't write a story that I'd love more than Jake's.
I was SO wrong.
Maddie and Dempsey's story has EVERYTHING you could want in a book.
You've got some forbidden love, a little age gap, a protective alpha attitude, thrown in with some angst and holy sh*t spice and the combination is a masterpiece.
Kristen's words have a way of sucking me into the story from the very first page. They take you on a rollercoaster of emotions and I am SO here for it.
I love these characters, I was honestly terrified to love some of the characters fully (if you know Kristen or have read her other books you get it) but you can't help falling in love with them.
I love James and Phoenix's story (I'd let him teach me to cook any day 🥵🥵), I LOVE Leo (he's got a bit of a TJ vibe and I'm going to need his story like ASAP), I love that mental health is a BIG part of all Kristen's books, Phoenix's Mom sucks (had to let you know because I seriously hate her).
If you aren't yet convinced that you need to read this book.....there are puppies in this story 🐶🐾
Since the first book in the Hampton Hearts series (When You're Home), I have NEEDED Jake's story. This novella was amazing but it wasn't enough to satisfy the craving. I. NEED. MORE. JAKE.
It feels wrong to say I love this story with all the sh*t that Jake has been through (his family seriously SUCKS) but I loved it.
I loved seeing where one of my favorite characters came from, his history, his relationship with his best friends (*cough* the hot tub scene *cough*)
I can't wait to see the continuation of Jake's story!
There aren't enough words to describe my love for this book, but I'll try.
This story is beautiful. It takes you through ALL the emotions. It made me laugh, it had my heart racing, it had me raging, and the SWOON! I wanted to crawl into this book and live among these characters.
Luke and Sal's story had me instantly hooked, I didn't want to put it down!
I can't recommend this book enough! (I want to say SO much more but I don't want to spoil anything.)
When You're Gone by Abby Millsaps is everything I could have wanted in conclusion to the Hampton Hearts series.
Tori and Rhett have frustrated the heck out of me for 2.5 books (in a good way) and this book pulled it all together and made all the previous frustration 10000000% worth it!
❤️My love for Jake has only grown throughout this series.❤️
💔😡 Fielding Haas has greatly disappointed me 😡💔
Abby's writing pulls you in and doesn't let you go.
This story is angsty and entertaining and SPICY and keeps you on edge needing to know how everything is going to play out.
