I really struggled with how to rate this book. The first 100 pages I was having the time of my life with this book. Lovely outdoor settings, fun adventures, I laughed so hard I cried. Unfortunately the fun ended for me about 130 pages in, the level of miscommunication that began and continued until about the 90% mark was so fucking atrocious I almost put this book down several times. I decided to stick with it but I did skim 70% of the book because I wanted to know the story but wasn't invested enough to take it all in. I enjoyed Darcy and Teagan together but fucking hell, why did we spend the whole book trapped up in lies? IDK. Overall I wouldn't say this was a waste of time (I did have some fun) but I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.
I tried hard to push through this but it just wasn't for me. I absolutely HATED The MC Shay, she was intolerable. The story was lacking any substance so I was constantly bored and couldn't push myself to go any farther.
I just couldn't get into this book. Its an interesting premise but unfortunately just couldn't hold my attention long enough for me to want to read it. The big issue for me is the author circling everything around to her life, it IS a memoir after all, but unfortunately I don't care about her struggle with alcohol and addiction enough to push through this book for the bits of interesting.
