King of Sloth

As always, Ana gives us another banger!

Going into this book I knew that I would love it! Slone was my favorite of the girls in the King of Sin series so far so I was so excited to get to her book. And this book did not disappoint my expectations, Xavier was an amazing male protagonist and Slone was as awesome as ever. I loved the whole thing with Slone's family and I found it all really interesting to find out about. And the sister stealing Slone's fiance! The drama was emasculate! I was not surprised when that weasel went back to Slone to try and get her back, once a cheater always a cheater. Xavier's whole thing was pretty compelling too, I enjoyed the mental turmoil he has throughout the book about his father's death and his opening of the club was a very smart plot point as well that I enjoyed very much. However, what is good, there is also bad. As much as I enjoyed this book there was one loose end I could not ignore, and that was that we never got the answer for who sabotaged and tried to burn down the club. I'm sure this is something that will be answered in King of Envy but it is an open plot hole that I cannot ignore when we are talking about King of Sloth as a stand-alone book. The best part of any sabotage plot is trying to figure it out, but with no answer in King of Sloth, it is most likely not Xavier's issue but Vuk's. Which isn't entirely bad per-say but I just wish we got some more answers here since it was directly mentioned by Alex as sabotage. Speaking of Mr.Volkov, the man cannot stay out of any Ana Huang book, can he? I can't really complain as I love seeing the main characters appear again and we get insight on they're lives. This book, I believe, had the most references and I smiled at every single reference to the twisted series! Love it! Anyways, this book lived up to the massive expectations I had for it and I am grateful for that. Onto the next one!

Yes, yesyesyes! This is everything I could have hoped for! I don't know if it was because I hated King of Pride and this rejuvenated something in me or what but I absolutely adore this book! I'm not usually a fan of second-chance romance but the way this was written and the characters were so amazing and so fun to go on this journey with. Highly recommend!

Alessandra was a character I was so interested in when she appeared in the two books before, and seeing this glimpse into her life was so sad and took me on an emotional rollercoaster of emotions throughout. Her and Dominic's relationship going from what it was to the end of the book was absolutely spectacular. Like I said, I'm not a huge fan of second chance usually but seeing Dominic do absolutely anything to get Alessandra back healed a little part of my inner child which I really appreciated. Surprisingly, the constant flashbacks didn't bother me either and I actually enjoyed seeing their relationship develop in two different ways. This book was a little bit of an oddball for me because after King of Pride, I lost a little hope in the King of Sin series but I knew I would like King of Sloth so King of Greed was very "in the middle" for me. Safe to say I was pleasantly surprised and hope to see their relationship continue in the later additions to the series!

Ok so, I know what you're going to say but I just didn't like the characters in this book. That's not to say it's a bad book but in my opinion, I didn't really like Isabella or Kai as main characters. Now this isn't a "bad" book per se, it was an enjoyable read. However, the characters were so frustrating to read about that all the typical enjoyment of an Ana Huang book was sucked from my soul. Starting with Isabella, I didn't really like her in King of Wrath so I wasn't expecting that to change (spoiler, it didn't. Overall, her story was based on how she wanted to write a book, sure, fine, whatever, but this girl could not write the book. She spends most of King of Pride only writing 20 pages of this book which is her "dream". Then her family is concerned for her (specifically her brother) and they offer her an opportunity for a stable job to which she says no and even gets mad at her brother for suggesting it. It's fine if she doesn't want the job but her excuse is that she's writing her book and that is what annoys me because the girl can't even write a book! I don't know, I just felt that her heart wasn't in it if it was taking such a toll on her and her family. It's fine if she wants to live her life that way, but don't get mad at your family for trying to help. Anyways, mini rant over, Isabella just made me mad as a reader and Kai was also kinda a boring male lead so I didn't care too much about them. Either way, I got through it, and if this is your favorite book I am sorry but I don't think it fits my tastes. In general, there is always one book in the series that's tough to get through and I believe this book was it for me. So here's hoping the rest are amazing!

Ana Huang does it again! Banger after banger after banger. Despite writing this review months after finishing this book I still remember how much I enjoyed it. After finishing Twisted Lies I was scared I would miss the Twisted series too much to fully enjoy the King of Sin books but I was pleasantly mistaken. You'll enjoy this book if you like the typical "forced engagement" trope with a little bit of family trauma mixed in.

For the full review, I loved Dante and Vivian! I knew I was gonna like Dante when he briefly made a cameo in Twisted Lies and I was very excited to see the scene in Twisted Lies from Vivian's perspective. The whole thing with Vivian's family was really interesting and I loved the full circumstances of the engagement. The ending was also really cute with how Dante wanted to start over with her. Dante also was an amazing main boy, he might be one of my favorites in the Ana Huang books so far! It was overall just an amazing book that I loved to read on my couch.

WOW! Wowowow! Christian Harper is all I wanted out of Alex Volkov and didn't get! Christian is truly my second favorite man from the twisted series and this book did not disappoint. I went into this with high expectations and these expectations were met and more! I loved Stella as a character and her internal struggles were something that I resonated with, and the guessing game with the stalker and the security mole was a fun game I played through out the book (which, I guessed the mole right heck yeah).

As for plot, I loved the stalker plot and I loved the small snip bits we get of Christian's work (aka, the office scene), I even liked Christian's character and I enjoyed the fact that all four Twisted men were together in scenes, their dynamic was great and I even ended up warming up to Alex which is shocking considering I didn't like him too much in his original book. As for Stella, I really reallly liked her as the main girl, her actions made sense and I really liked her personality. Stella was honestly a wild card for me when going in because she wasn't really relevant in the other three books so I couldn't get an opinion and I'm honestly happy about that. This book was genuinely a joy and I'm so excited to start the "King of" series since the main character of the first one seems intriguing since he was also in this book.

So, I've read the third one. Going into this one my expectations were a bit low and I was really only reading it to get to Twisted Lies. Riding off the high Twisted Games gave me and hearing such great things about Twisted Lies, Twisted Hate just became "the book in the middle" in my mind if that makes sense. Safe to say my expectations were exceeded. Not to say this is better than Twisted Games, I enjoyed that book wayyy too much. However, I had a lot of fun. I didn't really love Jules or Josh as characters in the past two books but this book somehow molded my mixed feelings with them into them becoming really interesting and cool characters.

I liked the Jules ex-boyfriend plot even if I was screaming at her to just tell Josh the whole time. Josh was just Josh but even with him not seeming very interesting compared to his other two love interests in previous books I still found him compelling and I even ended up liking him by the end. I've got a billionaire, I've got a Bodyguard, I've got a CEO, and I've just got Josh is real in this book though, I feel bad for Jules when her friends invite her out and she probably has to decline due to money reasons lol. Anyways, enough jokes, genuinely liked this book, not as much as Twisted Games but more than Twisted Love. I've leave you with this, as always, Alex saves the day in this book too which is too funny, I bet he'll do the same in Twisted Lies.

Wow! The improvement from Twisted Love to Twisted Games is uncanny. I enjoyed Twisted Games so much I couldn't put it down. I was laughing, shocked, upset and a whole plethora of emotions while reading about these two. Bridget was a much more interesting protagonist than Ava (in my opinion) and Rhys was a much more likable character compared to Alex. Although, I did appreciate the slight appearances of Ava and Alex in this book, felt like a reunion. Back to Twisted Game's though I absolutely loved it! The twists and turns were ones I never saw coming but made sense in the overall build up throughout the book, plot went smoothly and characters actions made sense (most of the time). Bridget becoming Queen was a story line I enjoyed very much and the whole blackmail section of the book was very well done in my opinion.

The book wasn't bad by any means, I think it was just...a lot. The first half of the book was pretty slow to allow the couple to get together (which was fine) but that only left the other half to tie up the loose ends of Alex's family/Ava's dad which seemed a bit rushed to me. There were three separate plot lines I could see with Ava's trama, the relationship, and Alex's family. On paper, that makes sense, but the book spent way too long on two plot lines without fully developing the last one making the third act seem a bit quick. I wanted more tension with the uncle and more interactions with him in general for him to become such a prominent character in the third act. I didn't buy Alex and the uncle's relationship because we didn't spend time with them until the book needed to tie up the loose ends of Alex's story. Overall, it was an enjoyable read. Despite everything I've said about the third act I could not put this book down! The twists and turns kept me hooked the whole time despite it seeming fast. If you enjoy twists (even with their flaws) then you'll love this book!
