When I'm Dead by Hannah Morrissey
4.0
A murder mystery in Black Harbor Michigan. A teen goes missing after another teen is murdered. Will Rowan and Axel survive this nightmare and keep their marriage from falling apart… Twists upon sick twisted events happen to cause turmoil between characters in this small town. Everyone is on edge suspecting one another, causing havoc between families, students, teachers and friends.
A hard to put down suspenseful thriller that Hannah Morrissey is known best to tell. She grabs your attention through her descriptions of this dark, gothic-like town with its french creole natives. Never a dull moment, with this creative writing that keeps you wanting more. Escape into a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Five girlfriends get together for a reunion weekend at a remote winery on the Oregon coast under the guise of reconnecting. It's told between the past and present. The premise was interesting but I found my mind wandering. It was difficult to get the full impact of what the author was trying to convey in the physical aspects.
I always find the best mysteries are those when a reader can almost imagine themselves there. At 50% in I still felt like nothing had happened to advance the plot. As much as I hate to skim, I did skim a bit until 65% in when it picked up some.
I’m glad that I pushed through, the ending was great. I think most people can identify with the kind of toxic friend relationships we see here.
Thank you to Random House Publishing/ Ballantine Bantam and NetGalley for a free advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review!

Confessions of an Accidental Lawyer by Michael Stockham, Michael Stockham

I absolutely loved this book.
A story that's quite realistic. It had me both tearful and laughing out loud throughout.
You feel emotions from both sides of the criminal system, through employees, lawyers and witnesses.
Daniel struggles through court while his wife struggles through difficult pregnancies. It's so beautifully written and fast paced it will leave you wanting more.

Holy cow what did i just read…. Talk about twists oh my my!
This unputdownable book had me going nuts to figure out what was going to happen.
I absolutely hated CoCo! Despised her like no other. Her uppity, conniving ways had me so disgusted from the moment her POV came into the book. I’ll give the author major kudos on getting to hate CoCo so much and I’m pretty sure you’ll feel the same. I’ll even admit I skimmed a bit of CoCo’s POV because she made me sick with her analytical hogwash.
This is an absolute must read, filled with love, lust, affairs, secrets so many secrets. You will start to feel sorry for Kate and maybe even for others like I did in the end.

Emily and Jackson … a sweet, clean love story.
Jackson's a stubborn and possessive CEO of the Hart Hotel Company. . Emily’s his naïve Administrative Assistant, who had an epiphany during her psychiatric hiatus from his company.. She was rehired a year later by the company matriarch and honestly, I’m not sure... to me it felt like they were both pushing away the inevitable for way too long…. I found the story OK, a bit slow paced, and drawn out. After about 80 pages in and it started to pick up some, just not enough for me, I'm sorry.
I won a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.

The Beach House by Jenny Hale

Enchanting love story told from long lost love letters.
After losing her grandmother to cancer, Melanie is looking for a fresh start. Her grandmother left her with an inheritance to buy a specific beach house in Florida. Melanie dreams of taking this shabby old home and making it into a beautiful bed and breakfast.
Josh is divorced and also looking to move from his childhood town in Florida to New York City where he can nearly triple his income for his future dreams.
Family secrets, new beginnings and long lost love shared from decades past. A beautiful story of hope, imperfect life lessons and second chances. This would make an amazing Hallmark mini series.
Thank you NetGalley, Jenny Hale and to the publisher for my chance to read and review this amazing sweet story, it was so hard to put down.

Jennifer, A stay at home mommy vlogger/youtube influencer, recently divorced mom of 3, live-in boyfriend of a year. She’s unaware of her delusional stalker. He's a sociopath murder, and no mind altering medication or therapy will make him better, he’s a monster!
Such a terrifying suspenseful thriller you’ll find so hard to put down.

The Bones of the Story by Carol Goodman

This amazing book is written in Now and Then.
THEN: When the characters were in college.
Writing classes, rituals, students, friends, professors, and a well known Author. I loved all that I was learning about writing, so intriguing.
What’s not to love, a book about books and stories. Along with memories from college. It’s filled with suspense and mystery, good times and really bad, that will stop you from putting this book down..A student goes missing, a facility member dies after getting lost trying to find her in a blinding snowstorm.
NOW: 25 years later. A reunion among students and facilities. Stuck in a snowstorm at Campus where the old friends gather in memory of the most arrogant idol Author.
One by one someone turns up ..
Thank you so much to goodreads, the publisher and author for a chance to read this book in exchange for my honest review. I loved it! Page turner, suspenseful and mesmerizing writing.
I will definitely be back for more of Carol Goodman’s book!

Identity by Nora Roberts
5.0
This was the best, a fast-paced, pager turner, serial killer, romance book.
FBI agents are chasing down the charming master of disguise and skilled hacker, serial killer. He's a psychopath,a malignant narcissist, a sociopath incapable of feeling guilt or remorse and… oh so smooth, relentlessly evil. sadistic and greedy af.
He ruins his victims by stealing their identity, then murders them and lives off their money.
His victims' profiles are single, slender, blonde females with androgynous first names.
This creature’s victims represent his mother, who was his first victim at age 19.
My favorite characters:
I adored Olivia & Audrey, what an amazing mother and daughter.
Morgan, OMG,Who doesn’t love a woman who’s been through hell and comes out stronger?
Miles, quiet yet well spoken, ruggedly handsome, true manly man, book boyfriend for sure.
OMG I absolutely Loved every single minute of reading this book! It's going on my favorites!!

1⭐ DNF too disturbing!
Twins Arc & Daffy are passed down, dope addicts.
The book is being narrated by Arcade (Arc) in such a way that from the very start, I thought what am I reading?
This is not a mystery/thriller, which is what I was expecting going into this book.
Even though this was inspired by very real unsolved murders of the Chillicothe Six, it just felt like a horrific feverish dream, where everything that happens someone wrote poetry about it. The subject matter is not for the faint of heart. My heart was breaking in chapter one and I felt like crawling out of my skin.
This is absolutely not a bad book, or bad writing, but I really can't say who I'd recommend it to. It’s written like a wild fantasy ride, a bit lyrical and poetic which may be great for others.
Warnings: substance abuse, addiction, solicitation, animal abuse, violence, gore, sexual assault (including the repeated on-page rape of a child),, miscarriage, murder.
