i honestly mainly blame myself for such high expectations but i really was expecting much more you know? like first of all gus is his nickname… like come on now. and secondly it was just really boring most of the time and there was barely like ANYTHING likable about gus like i genuinely don’t get how january likes him (he does eventually get better but like i don’t get how she liked him at first). also i just really don’t see any spark between them but obviously there are some things i liked, like the writing was really good OH and of course this ( “when i watch you sleep”, he said shakily, “i feel overwhelmed that you exist”) LIKE THAT WAS SO CUTE. and i also like january a lot she is so me. oh and lastly i liked how the book talked about her parental issues.

only giving it two stars because of aaron but other than that i really disliked the writing it was just UGH and jokes were really corny. so yeah definitely wouldn’t read it again.

i LOVEE THIS it is so cute but Flávia is really- i don’t know i just really dislike her but at least she owned up to her actions. but other than that i really liked the rest. i also really like how relatable Nishat is.

the plot twist is the only thing that is really keeping the book together but regardless it SHOCKED me. so 3.75 stars.
