This is a book that speaks to the many ways we deal with loss, and it does an incredible job with parallel situations. There’s beauty in individual journeys, close-knit, expanded families, and large groups of strangers gathered for a reason.

I’m better for having read it.

This was a fun read, but certain plot points felt unearned. Book one could built a much better foundation for the rest of the trilogy.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.
Switched books because the politics began to drag on a bit. I'd like to return to it in the future and try again.

Loved the writing and tension. I’m not in a rush to read the 2nd book, but I’m reading her first novel.
