It's really hard for me to look past the misogyny in this book, even if it's supposed to be because it's "from Dresden's POV and he's 'old fashioned' (aka sexist when it was more socially acceptable for men to be sexist)." In general it was pretty corny and the 'soft' aspect of the magic made it kind of frustrating because it felt like Harry should've been able to handle things better than he did, but he instead spends time wandering around and ogling women or going on dates with them. I have to think that these get way better given how many there are.

So glad I continued reading this book even after I disliked the daughters' war! Really wish I had started with this one. The prequel kind of ruined the surprise twists with Galva.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.
It felt really dense and flowery. Couldn't keep my attention.
