Complicated person living during a complicated time, nevertheless Sally Ride's legacy and impact is enorm. Very informative and inspiring read, took breaks multiple times to reflect on the shared queer experience of compromises and sacrifices made in exchange for the safety of not being out. But this grief was somewhat alleviated when learning about the tremendous work Sally Ride undertook to make science more accessible to kids, specifically those underrepresented in science and math fields, as well as her passion for environmentalism.
Took some time to warm up to main character, but part of that may have been because of characteristics I related to a bit too much, and I loved the side characters.
Checked this out on a whim as it's not a traditional read for me, but I was pleasantly surprise, super interesting read., could not put down.
