One thing I’ve noticed from the two books I’ve read of hers is that she writes the fathers especially to be in circumstances that make them bad men. While unlike the other book (Invisible Girl) the father here is a bad man based on his past, a past we’re not really sure of.
His niceness is the reason everything that happened happened.
Also this book explores the truth that sometimes it’s not men you should be afraid of, it’s your fellow women which I find weird considering it’s IWD.
Very curious to read her other books.
