I was really enjoying this entire audiobook but the ending left me wholly underwhelmed.

Woodborn is Heather Nix's debut novel; it is a high fantasy sapphic novel that I quickly became obsessed with the book! I strongly advise you to check this book's trigger warning before reading.

The world-building in this novel is fantastic and continues throughout the story. We consistently learn little nuances of the world and the creatures that live within it. The character development was good, even with the side characters and their role in the story. I quickly fell in love with all the characters and how they mesh together. The strong female leads throughout the book make my feminist heart so happy! I love a book where the women are front and center and strong enough to stand up for themselves and others.

This was one of the first true high fantasy novels I have read, and it took me a couple of tries and chapters to understand what was going on in the beginning, but once I caught on and got a little farther in, the questions I had were answered and was easier to follow.
