This is so fun, loved it! Just could have benefited from an editor to catch some typos

Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, a Life Reclaimed: A Memoir of the Cleveland Kidnappings by Michelle Knight

I finished this in a single day. I have a hard time putting a star value on a memoir. I cannot rank someone’s LIFE. Especially one like Michelle’s.

I appreciate her taking the time to share her story of Ariel Castro’s house of horrors. This woman has been through so much even before he kidnapped her. I admire her strength and her will to live and continue fighting.

This book is written in her voice, which it absolutely should be, therefore the writing isn’t very strong. But it is very readable, making it a quick day read. It is HEAVY material. It is hard to read in content. I hope she’s been able to connect with her son after this hell. Michelle has my heart.

Chasing the Wild is a forced proximity, age gap (of LEGAL age), grumpy touch her and expire romance that is quite fun. Snowed in with ex-boyfriend’s hard to crack father? Yes please. I did feel like this dragged a bit and the spicy talk got quite repetitive but overall a very fun book. I’m glad I gave this a whirl!

This is a book about underage child grooming and pedophilia. If you liked this book for the romance, you belong on a watch list. Dark romance and taboo is okay, child grooming is never okay.

This book had me in an absolute chokehold. Like, I’m not sure I will recover from this. Nothing will ever be better than this so I might as well stop reading altogether 😮‍💨

But forreal though, this book is INCREDIBLE. It is actual terrifying. The post apocalyptic setting and the Afflicted are set for a horror novel. I am obsessed with this story, its characters, and its execution. I almost never get to see my favorite tropes (br**ding, pr*gn*cy) done so well in something that is actually good. And this is phenomenal. For those of you that hate those tropes, there is also so much more in this novel but that is a little highlight for someone like me.  The action had me on the edge of my seat, heart in my throat, and TEARS IN MY EYES. This is saucy, sure, but this is such a well rounded book. 10/10, 5 stars, #1 book of my year so far.

I was granted an ARC in exchange for my review and when this book releases in print, I will be on that Add to Cart button SO FAST.
