as you'd expect it's very hard to parse, i can't tell if it's more or less direct with what it's saying than the box man. creative in the way a kobo abe book is. took a bit to really build up steam. i want to read what other people think of it.

i really like the ending

very hopeful for a story that loves to brutally torture it's protagonist

feels like he started living for himself as opposed to for anyone else, the detail that kojima ended up being his only friend throughout his life bc it's like ok he wasn't bullied because of his eyes it was as momose said it just happened. not as fatalist as i'd anticipated it's like "yeah you CAN take control of your life whenever you want, you have the choice to open your eyes and see the beauty around you"
