A Separate Peace by John Knowles

I feel the same way about this book as I do Catcher in the Rye. You just have to be the right age. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more or felt a connection with the characters if I was in early high school...

I was fortunate enough to be working in one of the buildings Burnham and Atwood designed in Chicago while reading this book. Guests would constantly ask about details of the book and the architect. They travelled from all over after having read it just to see the pairs work around the city! I loved it! The mix of true history and thriller type fiction really made it a page turner despite the fact that this type of reading is not my norm!
