This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

this book did a good job at keeping me wanting to know what would happen next. i think switching perspectives of multiple characters did a good job at matching the chaotic pacing but i would have cared a lot more about if the characters made it out alive if i knew them better. overall i think it’s an interesting concept but it’s missing something.

i checked this out on libby on a whim because i wanted to take a crack at audiobooks. the ‘uglies’ series was so special to me as a kid and just hearing the word spagbol got me really excited, here as an adult. this was a really interesting read. although it’s a dystopian ya, i think the world created is so different. these characters are also really likable and i find myself rooting for them the whole time. i’m super excited to visit the next books and see what happens next.

finally finished!!! libby’s audiobooks have been my lifesaver as i know i wouldn’t have finished this with just the physical copy. honestly the best parts of this were callbacks to the original trilogy. i think the problem with a prequel to a story like the hunger games is that you know there’s gonna not gonna be a satisfying ending for another 60 years. i guess i just wish the ending was more ??? i don’t know i just feel like i was missing something. i blinked and suddenly they hated eachother. also, i would have loved to find out what snow did to tigriss to ruin their relationship. overall entertaining but hard to push through even though so much happened in this book.

wow. there were times in acotar when i fell in love with this universe, with this journey, with feyre, but i just... did not love the romance? even in my notes here i was like okay cringe but i like the rest of it enough to keep pushing? and then i got to acomaf and it was just a big ohhhhh okay this is what i’ve been waiting for. i don’t hate romance i just wasn’t sold on t*mlin! i have taste.
this story had me so hooked that i’ve had a hard time getting it out of my head. where acotar set us up for this amazing world, acomaf exceeded it by a million percent. this story told a million tales in one. wow wow wow.
i’m so thankful to have a story where i love the main character and i love the main love story. i love the found family and i love the sisters. i love that rhys treats feyre like she finally deserves to be treated.
i can’t wait to dive into wings and ruin tomorrow. ^__^ thank you miss sarah j maas!

ok so the main character is kind of “i’m not like other girls”-y and the whole thing feels kinda rushed but this was a super fast read and entertaining so i’m not mad at it. i wanted cheesy and entertaining and i got cheesy and entertaining!

such mixed feelings. i love america’s maids! i love america’s family! i liked maxon a lot more in book 1. i liked aspen a little bit less in book 1, too. at this point i care less about the future of her love life and more about the future of the country, which i think is good for me. whatever! this book is so easy to read.

listened to this bad boy in like 4 days. honestly intense romance makes me cringe but i think i’m obsessed with fantasy worldbuilding and this was just the creme de la creme

i cannot believe that edward cullen saw what leaving bella in new moon would do to her and said “eh... this is still the best option for her”. pain!
this was a lot. still cannot get over how often edward’s inner monologue went “these are kids. babies. only tadpoles. underage teenagers. but bella’s MY underage teenager.” gross!
however... still slaps. would love to see a new moon from both edward and jacob’s perspectives but i know that’s never gonna happen.

this was so much harder to get thru than the other two and i’m not sure if it’s because i didn’t want it to end or because it’s a brick but idc i can’t simply care this much about these characters and then not give it 5 stars. i can’t wait to read acosf simply because i love nesta and i love this universe so much
