(trials, vampire/humans, mythology-ish, enemies to lovers, grumpyxgrumpy, take care of each other’s wounds, he feed and she got turned on)

i liked it??? i think lol
it’s the first book i read after a reading slump and i think it’s taking  me out of it bc i am on my way to read the second book so that says something

it gave hunger games-ish mixed with throne of glass-ish plus vampire mythology in a good ol dystopian 2016 booktube kinda way LOL and by that i mean IT WAS GOOD

a safe option to read if you don’t want anything too complex, it had some parts where i had to take a moment to understand the plot and the world building but nothing  serious

the trials were interesting and the way it tied to the life of Nyaxia was original, i liked it

…the main couple was good but i didn’t felt that strong of a connection for her to give up her end goal like idk ask for something else girl LMAO

i actually kinda teared up at some points- and i am not a crier lol idk maybe it’s my period ANYWAYS
it was entertaining and kinda different so FUN! read it

(aliens, enemies to lovers, sexy banter, bff’s brother, touch her and die, can’t stay away from her, he fell first)

I read this book when i started reaaaally getting into reading and i loved it so much. i ate the whole series up.
I am making my way into reading old books i loved bc i want to see how my tastes have change and  if i still consider them good books lmao.

so basically i enjoyed this, its sexy and fun, so nostalgic for me and easy to get into even if it’s nothing groundbreaking
i like it tho :) its entertaining even if its the weakest book in the series i think, soo imma keep reading now heheh

Did not finish book. Stopped at 75%.
got bored.
the internal MMC’s dialogue was 80% ab his brothers, and his old life and there was 0 angs or build up between him and the FMC... they smash the first time they meet like?? byee

(queer, secret relationship, forced proximity, one bed trope, single-ish mom)

maybe i am entering a romance reading slump or maybe this story is plain as fuck lol

i powered through 3/4 of the book and then just skimmed through the last part, it was meh

the plot was okay but it didn’t hit.
i didn’t connect with the characters at all and it had so many parts where they explain their childhood that i eventually ended up skipping it. just do flashbacks if you have so much to say and show us how it was bc at some point in the middle of every sinlge dialogue it went on a tangent it was annoying lowk.

but maybe its just me ?

Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.
i powered through the first book bc it kept me entertained and it was a fast pace but yall i am done lol it had the same two plot twists.
EXACT SAME
the explosion that was not planned by her, the rescuing and then how it ends and she does not understand a thing. yet again.

like think about something else?? let her be the one who decides to do something about her life? up until now nothing that happened to her was bc she wanted it. things just happened and she went through the motions.

they don’t tell you why anything happens and i like figuring shit out istg but it feels like it’s all pointless lol so yeah. it makes me not care ab the plot or the FMC

i liked the mental thing she had goin on with that Jason Momoa tho i was hoping that would be entertaining enough to keep reading but nope. so see yađź’‹

(enemies to lovers (?)idk ab that yet, fae/humans, forced proximity)

i did NOT expect to finish this book as fast as i did lol

tbh i didn’t have any type of connection to the story or the characters (also i didn’t care ab the world building oops it was dense) but the pace was fast enough that it kept me entertained

sooo imma just keep reading the series, lets see if i end up finishing it lmao

(fake date, quirky & outgoing FMC  serious & awkward MMC, JUST CUTE!!!)

SO WHOLESOME!!!
i was so giddy reading this story, so fucking adorable and actually so real?? they felt like actual normal people

i love the queer/bi/pan and autistic representation, as well as the anxiety talk. And the way the FMC and MMC talk about it makes it so refreshing. it’s been a long time sice i read a book that felt this real, it felt so normal and every conversation is one that i could actually have in my normal life. the pace of their relationship was also just natural. i love it.

HOWEVER. everything was good till the breakup at the end- it was for such a bad reason. yeah her sister is going through a breakup but in WHAT world does that mean that she has to break up with Jamie? like huh??? i didn’t like that. Then in 30 pages the sister goes randomly on a trip and then she is like “okay now i can live my life and have a bf” kinda stupid

the end felt rushed and it made me mad bc i loved the rest of the book SO MUCH. that made me lower the rating from 5 stars to 4
alsooo…just a few more spicy scenes wouldn’t hurt tho. i reaaaaally liked them

(player/coach’s daughter, friends w benefits to lovers, she wants to experiment, he wants to relieve pent up tension to play better)

i mean….the spice was DEFINITELY there. i- woah. yep.
but idk if im just in a romance reading slump or what but none of this really hit for me??
the plot is mainly just sexual i get it, but still some parts didn’t make sense. i just wasn’t as into it as i would have liked

(bodyguard/princess, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, look at her and i kill you vibes)

something about it made me not connect to the story or the characters at all. It all felt rushed and bland. FMC and MMC didn’t have chemistry or anything in common and only either fucked or told bits of their family story…idk. i love the trope tho and everyone was hyping it so much- i am a lil disappointed
also the spice wasn’t doin it ngl

for the name of this book, you would think that it would be FILLED with it, and that it would be exciting and dirty and all of the above…honestly i was a lil disappointed

ugh it could’ve been so sexy, the plot really was original i was so ready to be obsessed with it :/

The beginning was good, it started and i was eating it up, that short ass scene where they don’t know what to write and end up grinding and making out  while narrating it from their character’s povs was good ngl, if they keept doing that....but no
then the first two spicy scenes happen and BORING.
like the rest of the plot minus a few funny scenes. it just doesn’t do it for me.

maybe if you don’t usually read spicy books and you don’t go into it with expectations, you will like it.
just don’t call it smut if it’s all gonna be vanilla asf. cmon
