(forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, ptsd, horse racer, one bed trope, nightmare trope)

i was waiting for the typical cowboy romance (which i LOVE) but the plot was so good. and the tension?? yuppp

…there’s a few things that made me lower the rating tho.
At first i loved the story and their chemistry but as soon as they were finally together it all went downhill.

Don’t get me wrong i loved the first spicy scene but the confession was lowkey cringy-
“I’m a shitty fucking patchwork quilt. I’ve spent years picking up the tattered pieces of myself and slowly stitched it all back together. But I’m not good at sewing, Violet. And now the edges are starting to fray. “
like?? and it isn’t even a reference or an inside thing. it felt so awkward it just pulled me out of the moment completely.

if u are looking for a steamy spicy romance this story has some scenes but it lacks substance idk something was missing for me

and THEN  in the third act breakup she said that he had to “figure his shit out” and that “she won’t wait forever” TO A MAN WITH PTSD- like girl he’s goin to therapy just give him a break and be patient…it wasn’t fair. you just don’t say that to someone that’s traumatized amd u care about.
it was so unrealistic bc then he was all fine and facing his trauma two weeks later.
i just didn’t like that it felt fake

it was good tho (even if i didn like that end part) it kept me interested and i read it in two afternoons

(forced proximity, marriage of convenience, age gap, he fell first,
not experienced/experienced, nightmare trope)

i could not put this book down and it’s currently 5:26am
that should tell you enough

officially my favorite book off the series. then cade’s and then rhett’s. everything ab this book just beats them:
The depth of the characters? i actually almost cried at the beginning with beau’s backstory
The tension?? mind blowing
The SPICE??!! yessir sign me tf in

…honestly the spiciest of the whole series and the most original too like some of the scenes really made it for me.
i was actually surprised after every other book was 2-3/5🌶️

only things i wasn’t completely sold on was that the marriage of convenience was so sudden it felt fake, like it could have been planned out and explained  better bc it makes sense with both their stories. Also the end felt kinda rushed out, and the twist…i almost didn’t like it bc she was so independent and did it all on her own it felt wrong that he helped with that too

i know im gonna go back to reread it tho so nothing that annoyed me too much to not go back

would recommend! :)

(single dad, age gap, grumpy/sunshine, nanny)

top 2 from the series, 1 is Beau and 3 is rhett

don’t usually like the single dad trope but it was cute as hell, the tension and the banter was so good too. The hot tub moment??? yes yup yeah. for some reason that did it for me

and even tho it’s clearly a HEA and i knew there was no way she would leave them, and it keept me invested.
Only thing i didn’t like was the pregnancy tho… like there was no point bc she was gonna stay regardless but it was at the end so i didn’t care it was cute

(city girl/cowboy, tending to injury, drops it all for her, forced proximity)

way better than i expected tbh, i only read Jasper’s book from this series and i put it in my dnf i could not finish it for the life of me even the spicy scenes were boring

but this one? yeah i liked it. Nothing really that exciting about it and very predictable but i enjoyed it. might be entering my cowboy romance era tbh

(slow burn, grumpy/sunshine, age gap, sports romance, enemies to lovers)

i always come back to reread this book- there’s something about it that is so addicting, once you start you cannot put it down..and i usually don’t go out of my way to read sports romance but this one just got me

he is an asshole and usually that would made me put this book in the dnf pile but this book is the exception

also the soccer content (pretty much 60% of the book) is not boring at all or repetitive, it makes sense with the story and it doesn’t seem like its just filling

its a sloooow burn so just be patient but the way it builds up it makes it worth it at the end, the couple of spicy scenes at the end are pretty good ngl i was giggling and shit
