good! really loved the first third of it specifically! everything after kinda felt a little rushed, the side characters didn’t feel very complete, and it just didn’t fully satisfy me but I’d still easily recommend it

it’s fine! got a lot less into it as the story progressed and as more reveals happened. doesn’t help that the synopsis is quite a bit of a spoiler tbh

really got into Brandon Taylor’s writing and character work in this, don’t think it’s a perfect all time favorite by any means but I enjoyed it a lot! it’s very nice to listen to/read books about a bunch of queer men that was actually written by a queer man, a lovely change of pace for me

listened to this all in one day almost unbroken over a few hours, probably my favorite book of the year so far. fascinating story, excellent use of character perspectives and the four leads, as well as the other side characters, all felt really interesting and unique. very well written, would love to read this physically and I'll almost certainly get myself a copy of it

loved it, really got into the characters of Nia and Ahro and the general structure of the book. loved how the plot and character perspectives were presented and how unique it felt, it has a lot of similarities to other books I've read and loved, but this felt like a wholly distinctive experience. definitely want to read other books by this author in the future, already looking to get into his newer fantasy for sure
