It is set as a classic detective story. The twist is that the pov is the criminal. His philosophy is understandable to a degree however i cant help but feel that more historical knowledge about the different philosophical streams could help in pinpointing the real moral crossroads of each character.

I have definitely enjoyed the vibe of Petersburg and the gloomy state of mind of the protagonist.

As of now i have to read a couple of  interpretations and in the future go for a second read-through to understand the genius of the book.

The book shows the reader a palestinian Point of view without demonising the Jews who come to Israel. Knowing that the book is based on true stories will make you cry on multiple pages. But no matter how horrifying the events are, humanity and the willingness to forgive are always in the center of the plot lines.

Some of the writing felt a little bumpy here and there but overall its a recommendation for all who like to know more about Palestine and its people and history.

This book has some of the finest poetic pages I‘ve read in a while. Yet, I felt like I was constantly missing something. Maybe its because english is not my mother tongue. Without digressing: From time the plot and the characters were losing their grip on me and I had to work myself through a couple of pages until the grip tightened again.

For others this might be even more groundbreaking but i have read multiple mycelium stories, braiding sweetgrass, etc. so most of it was more of a repetition. Nonetheless i thoroughly enjoyed the book especially towards the end which veered a little of the part with the quotations and gave me more of a look on Sheldrake‘s opinions.
