The Perfect Neighborhood by Liz Alterman

Oak Hill appears to be the perfect neighbourhood - until a woman leaves her husband in the middle of the night, and then children begin to go missing from the streets.

Liz Alterman tells a captivating tale through the eyes of several Oak Hill women, at a pace that keeps you turning the pages to find out more. This was a fast-paced, suspenseful read with many twists and turns along the way. The characters were well-written and most felt realistic, which is impressive when writing from multiple POVs, and the mystery was perfectly mixed with the secrets and gossip of the neighourhood, which all tied in to the main plot. The writing was engaging, although occasionally seemed to state the obvious rather than letting readers draw their own conclusions, which could have added to the mystery. Overall, a quick and engaging read which will keep you entertained.

A fast-paced thriller that will keep you turning the pages. I finished this book in one day, eager to find out what was really going on and whether Becky's suspicions were correct. The pacing was good, never becoming boring or dragging on for too long without any events, and the circumstances Becky found herself in were intriguing.

However, I wasn't a fan of the writing style; it left little to the imagination, making it overly easy for readers to predict how things would end and what was really going on. The character of Elizabeth in particular seemed to have no real place in the story and could easily have been removed without affecting the storyline or Becky's experience.
