fell in love with alex and henry's characters from the movie, so i had to see if they were better in the book. and they were.

a cute, sweet, and lighthearted read! absolutely adored their relationship growth throughout the book. all though the book was a little bit too political for my liking (i'm just not a girl whose interested in reading about politics), it was interesting to see how alex and henry navigated the politics while they we're in such a tough position. casey mcquiston knows how to write the hell out of a romance

overall a pretty solid and enjoyable read

plot was averagely developed, characters had good growth, and tension was thick (had me giggling and kicking my feet at some points). what made the plot special was the message of the book - women's experience with sex, intimacy, and insecurities. i related heavily with some of the topics of insecurities of allowing your body to be vulnerable in front of someone. it's like i was reading someone else going through the same experiences as me which was really reassuring and beautiful. it was also a real confidence booster to read such a powerful & independent female lead whose not afraid to take control of her own pleasure and show that it's not just the men that get something out of sex and women don't.

although rosie danan's work didn't really stand out all that much to me, i really enjoyed the topics she brought up in this story.

loved this. DEFINITELY would recommend.

(spoilers ahead) this was more of a fantasy read with a light romance subplot laced throughout the story. i wish there was more tension between ruby and arcus, but their banter ayt besides that. i really enjoyed the fight scenes, especially when ruby was captured as prisoner and fighting in the death matches. she showed everyone she was a baddie and i'm hoping to see some more independent powerful woman action in the next two books of the series

cute, light-hearted romance read. interesting plot concept & and the pretend-to-like-each-other-in-public-but-hate-each-other-behind-closed-doors was pretty good too. for more of a teenage audience, but still would recommend!

KERRI UR KIDDING W THIS ONE??? DEVOURED.

(spoilers ahead) lawd have mercy with this one. i actually couldn't put down this put & finished it in like 3 days. my uni assignments had to a take a pause for this one. i absolutely loved the adventure in this story and how it took us all over the realms. and best of all - ENVY AND CAMILLA'S TENSION??? got me giggling, squealing and questioning my life. envy turning camilla into a freak and im here for it, smut scenes went crazy here. also there was a pretty good plot twist near the end of the book that got me, so that was a slay.

as someone who hasn't read the kingdom of the wicked series yet, u don't have to read that series to this book even though it's set in the same universe.

overall not a bad read, i would recommend it if you're looking for ur average enemies-to-lovers type vibe.

(spoilers ahead) lucy and joshua's banter was super witty which i LOVED. josh is so sassy wit it and it made the tension all the much better. plot was fun, light-hearted, and witty. i thought it was a bit weird that lucy and josh kissed kinda early on into the book, i wish it was prolonged for a lil bit longer but hey the elevator scene was still tea☕
