An incredibly uninteresting journey. There should be a warning on the cover that this book does not attempt to tell anything remotely close to a complete story arc.

A pinch of this teen dystopian and a dash of another. Feels like a pillaging of the specific items that other series have become known for and an attempt to smash them together. This ultimately adds up to a world that's characterized with a heavy hand. Obnoxiously clear class structures, predictable twists and turns, and politics that border on boring. However the writing of the action and scene to scene charcters provides a momentum that often covers up or even mends these flaws. I'm not sure if I'll continue the series.

Falls well short of it premise failing to explore the collapse of society, the intersection of these people's lives, or what it means to make art in a post virus world in a meaningful way.
