This was positively lovely!!! I loved every second of this book!!!

The opening line “I write this sitting in the kitchen sink” is absolutely iconic. I recommend this book to all cottagecore lovers and to all people who enjoy a cosy comfort reads!!!

This book!!!! The concept of it is great, but James's writing is just sooo dense. I found it reaaally hard to get through this, this only reason why I finished it is because I had a presentation on it. Would not reccommend to anyone who struggles with slow books.

It was originally published as a series and it shows, nothing much happens in it and it progresses really, really slowly. It takes a lot of patience to finish this. The voices of the characters sort of blend together, so that you don't really know who's talking, and for this reason I would reccommend the audiobook if you're going to venture into this one!

This book is immaculate!! It feels like a warm hug and I'd recommend it to anyone, but especially those who struggle with mental health. When you feel like everything is getting to be too much, just stop, sit down somewhere cosy and read this book.
Here are some of my favourite quotes:
"What do you want to be when you grow up? Kind."
"One of the greatest freedoms is how we react to things."
"Sometimes I feel lost" said the boy. "Me too," said the Mole. "But we love you, and love brings you home."
"What is the bravest thing you've ever said?" asked the boy. "Help," said the Horse.
"We don't know about tomorrow," said the horse, "all we need to know is that we love each other."

This book is also perfect because you can dip in and out of it when things get rough and heavy, as I have been lately :)
