I loved this book and always will, though I admit that it isn't my favourite book of the series, it certainly isn't my least favourite and I adore Luke

This has always been my least favourite of the series, however that doesn't mean that this is a bad book, but rather that it holds less interest for me

I love certain things about this book, such as the introduction of more monsters, Tyson and Kronos. As well as the whole quest for the Golden Fleece

However as I'm reading it, I always felt as though something was missing, as though there could have been more to this book. And the ending always bothered me, the plot twist just felt too predictable to me, even the first time that I read this book

Actual rating: 4.75

I loved this book so much more than I thought I would have and the only reason that I didn't rate it 5 stars is because I found some parts of it dragged and some scenes and descriptions I found odd and unnecessary

As someone who has watched season 1 of the show so many times, I adored this even more, there was so much more depth and details in it and I found myself loving so many characters, especially Robb and Tywin

There were some scenes that broke my heart: Ned's execution, especially reading it from Arya's perspective and seeing Bran and Rickon's reaction to it. And the scene where Khal Drogo is killed. And the scene where we see Catelyn reunite with her father as he is dying

Another scene that I loved was when Commander Mormont gave Jon Longclaw, it had so much meaning behind it and he is definitely one of my favourite underrated characters

Despite how long it took me to get into it, once I got past the first 150 - 200 pages, the plot picked up and I loved reading about all of the politics and intrigues of King's Landing. And I loved seeing all of the chatracters and their differing motives for their actions

Overall, this book was so much more than I hoped it would be and I am looking forward to continuing on with the series

I didn't know anything about this book going into it and I found all of the new names confusing and hard to follow, which took away from my enjoyment of the book

I think that the plot was certainly interesting, however there was too much going on at once

It was average for me

This book is amazing and will always be one of my favourite books I have ever read

I read this book for the Reading Rush and it fulfilled the challenge of read and watch a book to movie adaptation

My favourite character in this book is Muldoon because he's even more awesome than in the movie

I still found Malcom more annoying, and Hammond began to annoy me as much as he did the first time, especially with the changes that they made to him in the film

NEW REVIEW AS OF 24TH JULY 2019

I reread this book for the Reading Rush and it fit the challenge of read a book with purple on the cover. And I loved it just as much as the first time that I read it

However the love triangle still bothered me as it was basically reused from the Johnny, Christian and Meg story from their duology

But that didn't mean that I loved it any less

---------------------

If I had to choose a favourite from the trilogy i would definitely pick this one as it didn't have any bits that made it feel as if the book was dragging itself along

As with the previous one I loved Johnny and Meg just as much if not more

I'd read the sequel before now but just got around to reading the first book for the Reading Rush

It was just ok

The ending took a darker turn than I was expecting

It reminded me of Warrior Cats but not as good
