When Sparks Fly is an easy, enjoyable read with a likable cast and interesting story. I think most fans of contemporary YA looking for a sapphic read will enjoy this one.

Yesyesyes. This book is c h e e s y, but in the good, heartwarming kind of way. I’m not sure I ever predicted the day we’d get a sapphic YA sports rom-com about a girls’ basketball player and an Indian-American cheerleading captain entering an enemies-to-lovers fake-dating scheme, but I love it so much and need a film adaptation immediately.

These Feathered Flames by Alexandra Overy

Full of courtly intrigue and deathly high-stakes, These Feathered Flames is a powerful tale of sisterhood. I literally cannot wait for the sequel.

Malice by Heather Walter

Viciously enchanting, Malice is an immersive and imaginative retelling of the Sleeping Beauty tale. The aesthetic was everything, and I loved how vivid the storytelling was. Although I was screaming DON’T DO THAT!!! at Alyce the entire last 20% of the book, I can understand why she needed to do what she did in the end from a character arc perspective. I didn't realize this was the first half of a duology until the very end, so you can imagine how shocked I was at the cliffhanger. I think this will be one of those cases where I won't truly know how I feel about the story until I read the final conclusion.
