Well, thanks to this book, I finally found a much desired solution to the problem of being able to speak your mind & not getting too agressive about it. It's called non-defensive communication, a set of skills that no doubt require a lot of patience to master.
The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
While I couldn't put down the book for a couple of days, the final twist left me somehow disappointed. First, the red herring of the Jane killing 'Jane' for the sake of her son reminiscent of the story of Mary Alice Young in Desperate Housewives; then the real culprit being this cartoonishly portrayed teenage psychopath. To me the first version seems more interesting in a metaphorical way of killing one's doppelganger.
Overall I hugely sympathised with the main character especially after it was revealed that her family was dead all along. The heartwrenching scenes following the car crash, with Anna's trying to save her husband and daughter, stranded in the white nothingness, make up the best part of the book.
